Local journalism in California is in jeopardy, and the California Journalism Preservation Act (AB-886) is a crucial step to save it.

This bill requires digital advertising giants like Google, Facebook, and Twitter to pay a "journalism usage fee" when they sell ads alongside news content. These fees will be reinvested into local newsrooms, ensuring that journalists receive fair wages and have the resources they need to provide quality news coverage.

Its time we stand up and protect local journalism across California. I stand with my local union journalists in demanding: Pass the California Journalism Preservation Act now!
